Register today for the MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Behavioral Safe Table 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Dec. 14. It will be held at the MHA headquarters in Okemos. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. This event will be an interactive, in-person discussion where participants will gain insight into behavioral health & patient placement best practices from a emergency department standpoint. Expert speakers, Bibhas Singla, MD, University of Michigan Health-West and Kyle Hoffmaster, RN, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, will walk participants through management techniques for behavioral health patients, how to navigate the healthcare system and connect to resources for these patients and learn about types of models to use within their own settings.
All emergency department staff i.e., physicians, nurses, nurse leaders, safety professionals and social workers are invited to participate in the safe table. Nursing credits will be provided.
Safe tables allow hospitals to come together, share ideas with peers, engage in safe discussions and obtain advice to make improvements to reduce or eliminate harm. These events are unique in that they offer a legally protected confidential environment for discussion around sensitive topics.
