  • MHA Workplace Safety Collaborative

The MHA Board of Trustees has designated workplace safety as a focus area for this program year, and as part of this effort, the MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) has begun in-depth analyses of workplace safety-related data. Furthermore, the MHA has sought input from members and content experts to lay the blueprint for a comprehensive, collaborative program. Each member organization is invited to participate in a new collaborative to identify, develop and implement workplace safety risk-reduction strategies.  A day long kickoff meeting will be held March 11 at the VisTaTech Center - Schoolcraft College, Livonia.  The event will bring together key stakeholders and provide an overview of the four main workplace safety areas being addressed through the collaborative: violence; sharps injuries; safe patient handling/musculoskeletal disorders; and slips, trips and falls. It will also help identify where hospitals are in their employee safety work and set goals as well as discuss OSHA injury measures.

Registration is free and open to all MHA members.
