  • MHA Keystone Center Workplace Safety Collaborative Kickoff March 11, 2019

    The MHA is convening member organizations in a collaborative to learn best practices and procedures surrounding workplace safety and subsequently support improvement efforts within their organizations.

    As part of this effort, the MHA will host a workplace safety kickoff event March 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VisTaTech Center – Schoolcraft College, Livonia.

    The meeting will identify, develop and implement workplace safety risk-reduction strategies in the following areas: violence, sharps injuries, safe patient handling/musculoskeletal disorders and slips, trips and falls. Featured speakers, William (Bill) O’Rourke, senior advisor, Value Capture, LLC, Pittsburgh, PA; retired Alcoa vice president; and Bill Anderson, past senior vice president, SCL Health, Denver, CO, will discuss safety and integrity and the ethics of employee safety in healthcare.

    The MHA is also offering four workplace safety trainings this spring: March 4 in Okemos, March 5 in Saginaw, March 6 in St. Ignace and March 7 in Marquette at a cost of $100 per person.
