    • Nov. 6 & 7: The MHA Keystone Center PSO is proud to offer Outcome Engenuity's Just Culture Certification Course to its members at a discounted rate at MHA headquarters, Okemos. The course will teach members how to reduce adverse events and foster a culture of curiosity, shared learning and accountability. It will also take a detailed look at accountability system-wide and provide participants with the necessary tools to drive change within their organizations.

    • The MHA Keystone Center held a safe table last week that focused on obstetrical harm. The PowerPoint presentation and notes are available on the PSO Community.  

    News to Know

    • The MHA Keystone Center PSO will administer a culture survey in spring 2019 and would like to gauge interest among members. Hospitals have the option of administering either the Safety, Communication, Operational Reliability and Engagement (SCORE) survey or AHRQ Hospital Survey on Patient Safety (HSOPS).  Administration of the SCORE or HSOPS is a member benefit of the MHA Keystone Center PSO, and results from the survey will be used to monitor progress for hospitals participating in the MHA Keystone Center high reliability initiative.     • The American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) is celebrating HRM Week this week. This year's theme, "Leading Together" celebrates the leadership that healthcare risk management professionals provide for their organizations. A free webinar, quizzes and various resources are available on the ASHRM website.

    MHA Keystone Center PSO 101

    The MHA Keystone Center PSO launched a six-part micro-webinar series, "MHA Keystone Center PSO 101." The micro-webinars provide high-level introductions to specific PSO concepts and help identify ways to gain the most value from your MHA Keystone Center PSO membership.

    • The first, second, third, fourth and fifth installments, What is a PSO?, PSO Community, Patient Safety Evaluation System, Patient Safety Culture Survey and Safe Tables are posted to the PSO Community

    • The sixth and final installment, MHA Keystone Center PSO Speak-up! Award discusses the quarterly award, which is designed to acknowledge the efforts of individuals or teams within MHA Keystone Center PSO hospitals who speak up to prevent potential harm to patients or staff members.
