  • Keystone Center PSO Update: May 29 - June 4

    • June 20: Due to an overwhelming response, the MHA Keystone Center PSO is no longer accepting registrations for the MHA Keystone Center PSO Root Cause Analysis and Action (RCA²) Training, taking place at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Contact keystonepso@mha.org to be added to the wait list, and we will contact you if a spot becomes available. 

    • Nov. 6 & 7: The MHA Keystone Center PSO if proud to offer Outcome Engenuity's Just Culture Certification Course to its members at a heavily discounted rate. Join us at the MHA Headquarters as we explore the core concepts that will become the foundation for your Just Culture. Upon completion of the course, members will return to their organizations armed to make an immediate impact to improve reductions, reduce adverse events, and foster a culture of curiosity, shared learning and accountability. 


     
     
    News to Know  

    • REMINDER: Please submit completed RCAs to the PSO portal as soon as possible! The lessons from these reviews will be used to generate discussion at the upcoming June 12 safe table and June 20 RCA² training.  

    • Submit nominations by July 26 for the 2018 Q3 MHA Keystone Center Speak-up! Award. Information about the award, including criteria and a nomination form are available online.

    • The MHA Keystone Center PSO recently launched a six-part micro-webinar series, "MHA Keystone Center PSO 101." The micro-webinars provide high-level introductions to specific PSO concepts and help identify ways to gain the most value from your MHA Keystone Center PSO membership. The first, second and third installments, What is a PSO?,  PSO Community, and Patient Safety Evaluation System are posted to the PSO Community. 
      • The fourth installment, Patient Safety Culture Survey highlights the importance of understanding safety culture and how survey instruments assess the attitudes and perceptions of clinical and non-clinical staff about safety.

    • The Medication Disposal Tool provides education on how to properly and safely dispose of expired, unused or unwanted drugs. MHA members are invited to order the Medication Disposal Tool to utilize and disseminate within their health system and community. Orders may be placed in increments of 250, with the first 1,500 copies provided at no charge. Additional quantities over 1,500 may be purchased from the MHA Keystone Center. 

    • The latest opioid-related resources, trainings and conferences are available in the MHA Community Member Forum.
