Infant Safe Sleep: The Basics and Beyond
This training reviews the 2016 updated american Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Infant Safe Sleep guidelines, highlighting issues/concerns that commonly arise in the hospital setting including swaddling, skin-to-skin care and use of hats. The training also teaches techniques that can be used to support families in implementing the safe sleep recommendations both in the hospital and at home after discharge. Additionally, suggestions are provided for hospital and system-wide activities to promote infant safe sleep.
